Freelance Web Developer – HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Location: New York, NY
General Description
AKQA, a dynamic global marketing and technology services firm, is looking for an accomplished, experienced Web Developer. This is a highly challenging position with opportunities for growth and learning additional skill sets.
Position Summary
The Web Developer will be responsible for developing sophisticated web sites and must be experienced with front-end web development. You will work with best in class creative, technical, media and analytics talents coordinating innovation in the interactive space. Project duration: 2-3 months.
Required Experience:
2+ years experience with web application development
Proficient, hands-on knowledge of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX as well as other web development/production tools
Experience with JavaScript frameworks, particularly jQuery and Prototype/Scriptaculous
Experience translating comps (PSDs) and wireframes into flexible and usable code templates
Experience with Photoshop and Illustrator
Strong working knowledge developing cross platform/browser compatible layouts for dynamic web applications
Familiarity with and adherence to web & accessibility standards
Effective verbal communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
Solid oral and written English communication skills
Enthusiastic to work in a fast-paced and dynamically changing environment
Desirable:
Experience with source/version control software (Subversion)
Experience with Java, JSP, Servlets and XML or .NET, C#
Experience with relational databases and knowledge of SQL and RDBMS tools and utilities
Experience with integrating with Flash Experience with CMS development
